Abstract

: Agricultural production is constantly exposed to many risks due to weather, climate and epidemics. With the position of agriculture and the importance of rice in the economy, Vietnam can be considered as a potential market for agricultural insurance. Rice production insurance in particular and agricultural insurance in general is necessary tools to help people cope with losses in production, but at present this tool is not yet developed. Through comprehensive review of agricultural insurance programs that have been applied in many countries, this paper aims to synthesize the theoretical foundations and related empirical studies, from which conclusions can be drawn.
