Abstract

The study confirmed the strengths and limitations of the Mekong private universities over the past few years. At the same time emphasizes the need to change to a Profession-Oriented Higher Education (POHE). The study has outlined the characteristics of POHE, the benefits of POHE, some training models in the world and traditional training in Vietnam have moving towards POHE. The study also shows the steps for private universities in the Mekong River Delta in the South applying POHE and suggetions in application of POHE in some disciplines such as tourism, hospitality, accounting, finance - banking, international business, economic law and vision 2020.
