Assessment of predator feeding capacity and impacts of four insecticides (Mapy 48 EC, Karate 2.5 EC, Exin 2.0 EC, Radiant 60 SC) on Cheilomenes sexmaculatus was conducted at the Insect laboratory of Southern Agriculture College from January 2018 to March 2018. Objectives of the experiment were to determine the potential use of Cheilomenes sexmaculatus as a biocontrol agents and impacts of insecticides on them. The results showed that the prey of Cheilomenes sexmaculatus includes larva of Plutella xylostella, Spodoptera litura, Spodoptera exigua, Brevicoryne brassicae, Hellula undalis and Cnaphlocrocis medinalis.
Cheilomenes sexmaculatus beetle predated Brevicoryne brassicae depending on its growth phase and highest at the fourth age (67,6 Aphis/age). Female beetle consumed more prey than male. Under laboratory conditions, all four insecticides (Mapy 48 EC, Karate 2.5 EC, Exin 2.0 EC, Radiant 60 SC) had serious effects on Cheilomenes sexmaculatus, mortality rate of the Cheilomenes sexmaculatus at 48 hour was 100; 100; 89,1 and 89,9 %.
